Caring for Banarasi Silk

Banarasi silk sarees are heirlooms. With proper care, they can last for generations.

Washing

Always dry clean Banarasi silk. If hand-washing, use cold water with mild soap and never wring.

Storage

Store in a muslin cloth, not plastic. Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Ironing

Iron on the reverse side with a low heat setting. Place a cotton cloth between the iron and saree.
